How do I register for a course?

  • Go to the Pacific Safety Center Online Institute:
    • Need training only for yourself? Create an “Individual account” by either clicking the “Sign-Up” button or going to the Catalog and clicking the “Purchase” link for a course you wish to take. In the process of registering, you will be able to add any combination of courses to your purchase.
    • Need training for a group of employees? Create an “Administrator account” by clicking the “Sign-Up” button and then selecting the Admin User box. This will allow you to register your organization and purchase multiple courses to be assigned to other employee student accounts.

I forgot my User Name and Password. What do I do?

  • If you have forgotten your password, click on the "Forgot Username/Password?”" tab below the Account Login and enter your information. If you are unable to retrieve your forgotten username and password online, please contact the Pacific Safety Center Online Institute customer service toll-free at (855) 4-PSC-411 x116 (or 855-477-2411).

Do I have to complete my course in one sitting?

  • No. You do not have to complete a course in one sitting. At any time, you can log out and when you log back in, all of your information will be saved.

Is there a time restriction on completing the course?

  • You have 90 days to complete your course, once you start it. The only exception is that you have 180 days to complete the OSHA Outreach 30-Hour course.

Can I register and pay for an employee?

  • Yes. To manage and oversee the training of employees, create an Administrator account and purchase courses to be placed in a “seat order” so that you may assign training to other student accounts.

How can I pay for the course?

  • You can pay with a credit card upon registering for the course.

How do I go back and reprint my certificate of course completion?

  • Login to your account at the Pacific Safety Center Online Institute and go to My  Account à My Transcript to review your training history and reprint completion certificates.

I have taken the 10-hour Outreach Training course, when will I receive my OSHA card?

  • Upon completion of the course, you will receive a temporary certificate of completion. In 4-6 weeks, you will receive your official Department of Labor OSHA completion card in the mail.

I lost my Training Completion Card, how do I get another one?

  • Please contact customer service of our preferred OSHA-authorized online provider, AdvanceOnline Solutions at (866) 427-2467.

What do I receive when I complete a HAZWOPER course?

  • You will receive a printable certificate upon successful completion of the HAZWOPER course. If you do not spend a full 8 hours in the Refresher course, the certificate will include a Supervisor Signature line for your supervisor to attest that the balance of the 8 hours were completed in other training or relevant activities to fulfill the requirement.

How do I know where I am in the course?

  • When you are logged into the course, click on the "Bookmark" link on the first page of the lesson to return to the furthest page you have previously reached. View the QuickStart Tutorial, also on the first page, to learn about the many ways to navigate through the content and control your experience.

How many times do I have to pass an exam in a course?

  • All of the courses give students up to three attempts to pass each exam in a course. If a student fails any exam three times – they fail the course.

What happens if I fail the course?

  • When someone fails a course – they must take the course, in full, from the beginning and pass all components of it to get credit for the course (and a certificate of completion). This typically requires the student to purchase again.

Is online learning for me?

  • Online learning is not for everyone. If you have difficulty learning in this environment, you may want to seek out in-person/classroom training on the topic.
